Apple’s App Store Hits 100,000 Apps and Two Billion Downloads
Too bad most of them are lame games or blatant copies of one another
By Kyle on November 7, 2009 at 6:02 pm

There was never any doubt that the iPhone had a huge App Store, but 100,000 is a heck of a lot. Also it seems like just last week that the one billionth app was download, and now it’s over two billion! These humongous numbers are a contributing force in the millions of people that flock to the iPhone. But do 100,000 apps mean anything? Continue Reading

HTC Leo – The First Capacitive Windows Mobile Device?
Could it really be true???
By Kyle on August 20, 2009 at 7:36 pm

You might have wondered before why there has never been a Windows Mobile cell phone with a capacitive touch screen. This question has definitely puzzled me. Some research has shown two explanations. One is that Windows Mobile users actually want to use a stylus instead of a capacitive screen which works great with just a finger. The second is that Windows Mobile does not ship with capacitive capabilities. Companies could develop the capability but none have, at least until now. Continue Reading

TomTom for iPhone For Only $99!
Don't waste your time with subscription navigation.
By Kyle on August 17, 2009 at 12:19 pm

TomTom has finally announced the pricing of their navigation iPhone app. It is actually quite a deal. The $99 cost will pay for itself in less than a year as compared to the $10 a month subscriptions like AT&T Navigator.
Also to go side by side with their app release, TomTom is selling an iPhone Car Kit. This will certainly cost a pretty penny but looks to be well worth it if you have spare cash. The iPhone can be mounted on the dashboard or windows for easier viewing of the navigation. Also at the same time it will charge the phone, which is essential since this app will most definitely drain your battery. If you aren’t using TomTom then the car kit still works great for hands free calling.
The way it figures out what is the quickest route is a little different than the standard way. TomTom uses IQ routes to figure out the fastest routes based on how fast other TomTom users traveled through areas. This will decrease the time it takes to travel 35 percent of the time according to TomTom.
There will be support for the iPod Touch in the future. First though it will only be available on iPhone 3G and 3G S users.

By Kyle on August 16, 2009 at 8:45 pm

Could the new iPod Touch really have a camera? There is plenty of proof that it will including pictures and a video. On top of the camera, the 3rd Generation iPod Touch is rumored to have a built in mic. It is amazing how far mp3 players have come. Continue for the video. Continue Reading
Magic To Get Sense UI Upgrade
Free upgrade this October
By Kyle on August 16, 2009 at 8:34 pm

It looks like the HTC Magic (T-Mobile myTouch 3G) will be getting a free UI uprade to the Hero’s Sense UI. It will run just as well on the Magic as it did on the Hero since it has the same internals. If this is all true and T-Mobile goes along with the upgrade, then this could be the first phone with Sense UI in the United States. It is not clear though whether this upgrade will be free or around $46. Stay tuned for further updates.

What Puts The HD In Zune HD?
It's probably not what you think
By Kyle on August 14, 2009 at 7:05 pm

Sometimes companies just throw HD on the end of names to make it appear better than it is. This Zune’s name might be slightly misleading. The name seems to imply that the screen displays HD quality images and video but this is not true. The screen resolution on the Zune HD is only 480×272 pixels (iPod Touch is 480×320).
